Users can set a job target date and leverage step-level due dates automatically set by the system to help teams prioritize work. Step-level due dates are an optional configuration available as of R30. If your organization doesn't use step-level due dates, these dates are simply not visible in the UI alongside the workflow tasks.
Setting Target Approval Dates
Most commonly we see organizations leverage the 'Target Approval Date' in Vodori as the the “need by” date for a piece of content. Your organization’s business policy may provide a different definition.
Target Approval Dates can be input manually and may be pre-populated with a date (or left blank), based on your organization's chosen configuration. It may also have an enforced minimum number of days between "today" and the chosen date.
This date is job metadata and is defined alongside the document properties during the preparing stage.
Edit the Target Approval Date
When a job is in preparation
Beginning with R30, when a job is sent back to the initiator for revisions, the Target Approval Date field is automatically. Users who can prepare the content must set the Target Approval Date again before sending it out for review.
When a job is in review
When a job is in review, coordinators have special permissions to edit the Target Approval Date. If your organization is using Step-Level Due Dates, a change to the Target Approval Date does not affect the job's assigned Step-Level Due Dates when it is edited mid-review. The only exception is if you are using Step-Level Due Dates based on Target Approval, which is uncommon.
- Click on “More Actions” in the bottom right corner of the toolbar.
- Click “Edit due date” (or similar -- note the label for “due date” may be different than depicted here based on your organization’s configuration)
- Select a new date and click “Save and close”. Dates cannot be set in the past.
- You’ll see a confirmation banner in the bottom left corner of the Viewer and the new job due date will update in the Job Details and on the Jobs board.
Reviewing Jobs by Due Date
By default, cards on the Jobs board are sorted by the job's overall target date (not the step level due date), from oldest to newest. Users can change the sort order by selecting another option in the dropdown.
